The Importance of Good Posture

Good posture may not be something that you have given much thought to lately, but it plays an extremely important role in the way our bodies function. Here at The Glen Back Care & Sports Therapy, posture is something we take very seriously. Good posture places all of our body parts in the correct position in order to be able to function optimally. That is, our body is best able to function with the minimum amount of energy required and able to produce efficient, effective, pain free movement.

Conversely, poor posture places our body in a position known as mechanical disadvantage. This means that our bodies are not able to create efficient movement patterns, and much greater effort is required to generate those movements. Poor posture therefore results in greater pressure being applied to our important body structures, particularly our spinal discs and joints, resulting in degenerative changes over many years. Ultimately therefore, poor posture results in stiffness and pain in the longer term.

Our experienced Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Osteopaths are experts in posture and posture correction. If you feel you have an issue with your posture, call the practice on 95609393 or book online at www.backcaresports.com.au, and find out how you can create both better posture and a pain free future! The sooner you start, the better you will feel!
